Using the poses to connect with the earth and open the heart, the breath to expand the vital life energy, and Meditation to free the mind and connect with spirit. Kerry
Porter: Pre-Natal Yoga;
Blended Hatha Yoga & Meditation

Kerry is certified in Dharma Yoga (Austin, TX), a style that emphasizes the meditative aspect of practice. She has also studied Ashtanga, Iyengar and Yin Yoga. Kerry's teaching style stresses functional alignment, which allows each student to feel the internal forms of poses. Awareness in each posture tends to encourage more spacious movement and breath patterns. From this perspective, alignment is not the seeking of perfection, but rather a tool that facilitates increasing awareness of oneself. She draws inspiration from Yogic and Buddhist philosophy, yet resonates most directly with the sciences of Psychology, Neuroscience and Evolutionary Theory (particulary the work of Steven Pinker, Oliver Sacks and Richard Dawkins). She seeks a rational, non-mystical approach to this ancient practice.

Tara Tomerine: Beginners' Yoga

"As a 200-hour RYT, I love to share my yoga studies to relieve the stresses of everyday life. I practice Iyengar Yoga, which emphasizes proper body alignment to find comfort and ease while striving to extend our reach. The practice of yoga relieves painful weight from joints, releases tension knots, and lengthens and strengthens the muscles and the spine. A little movement creates a lot of space, which is freedom from pain. I am grateful for the opportunity to teach at Yoga Moves as this studio and Teacher Denise Glueck remain dear to my heart. I seek to inspire others to use yoga in practical ways to improve everyday life." tara
